2 Chronicles 29 / Daniel 9 / Acts 9
In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the temple of the LORD and repaired them. He brought in the priests and the Levites, assembled them in the square on the east side and said: "Listen to me, Levites! Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the temple of the LORD, the God of your fathers. Remove all defilement from the sanctuary."
The entire chapter of the account of what Hezekiah did is a representation of the better thing, that which must become done in the better (spiritual) Temple, the place on the earth where the Father and the Son wish to live—in the hearts of the chosen and called sons of God, who live to do their will, to be consumed with what consumes them regarding the plan and purpose of the Father with this creation. Everything else—all of the things that the human animals are consumed with all their lives—will fall, fade or burn away; and is therefore of no value. The only thing that matters is being responsive to the call that comes to those sons whom are chosen by the Father to have ears to hear His teacher's voice and eyes to see the reality of the existence that is being revealed, not randomly or by accident, but because of the specific choice that has been made which initiates the basis for that revelation.
When they had assembled their brothers and consecrated themselves, they went in to purify the temple of the LORD, as the king had ordered, following the word of the LORD. The priests went into the sanctuary of the LORD to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the LORD's temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the LORD. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley. They began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and by the eighth day of the month they reached the portico of the LORD. For eight more days they consecrated the temple of the LORD itself, finishing on the sixteenth day of the first month.
The purification commands for the Temple, which followed the commands for that of the Tabernacle, are not just primitive and obscure rituals that have no place. That is how they are beheld by the humans who think they have advanced far beyond the need for what they consider obsolete, however for the sons these accounts are as invaluable to us as they were to the firstborn Son, who heard the word that the Father had put into the heart, mind and mouth of his brother Jeremiah, and that hearing shaped who he became because the Father who lived in him, told him what it meant. The Father used the words and stories that the Son heard to shape him into what He wanted him to be, because He revealed the secret mystery of what all the words and stories meant, beyond the literal.
Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, "We are safe"—safe to do all these detestable things? Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD.
As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."
Then he entered the temple area and began driving out those who were selling. "It is written," he said to them, " 'My house will be a house of prayer' ; but you have made it a 'den of robbers."
If we have no conception of the animal (serpent) nature and how it works to always just survive in so many complex ways, which themselves all break down to very simplistic survivalistic motivations, then there is no comprehension of what contaminates, nor what needs to be purified or how to do it. The contamination sets itself up against the knowledge of the Father by the act of the son allowing himself to be led by the animal instincts, cravings, lusts, and desire for what satisfies all that is in him because of its presence in his body. The things that pollute the son's body aren't things like entering into the more hideous acts of the followers of satan, drug addicts, hookers, pederasts and murderers. They are the very benign things that happen all the time inside the one predisposed to remaining what he was before, when the animal was all he was ever defined as, through and through. That was before the calling came, before the voice of the Father and the Son started speaking inside the son to reveal to him who he actually was according to the Father.
Now I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us. My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him and serve him, to minister before him and to burn incense.
Hezekiah was driven by a desire to follow in the way of his father David and Moses who first brought the word of consecration and separation of the holy and the profane to the people whom God intended hear and desire to be separated from the profane, separated unto God, wearing His name on their foreheads. There were very strict and precise commands as per what defiled the holy place and how to consecrate it. The defilement happened when the holy place was neglected and common things were brought into it, allowing the profane things to be mixed into the holy place where God wasn't living because it was polluted by everything foreign to the commands He had stipulated in the law of His servant Moses.
Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. O LORD, we and our kings, our princes and our fathers are covered with shame because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the LORD our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.
Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The LORD did not hesitate to bring the disaster upon us, for the LORD our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him.
The holy men who were after God's heart were made humble by the presence of His word in them. There wasn't an arbitrary desire that just sprung out from them, since at their core they were just animals reduced to being defined as such by the nature that kept them where they were. They received something special from the God who wanted to be their Father, but couldn't be because that nature which lived inside them made them contaminated so He couldn't be close enough to them to tell them that He had chosen them to be His own sons. They were able to hear His voice speaking to them even inside their hearts and minds, but their interactions had to be limited because they had to remain separated from Him, just because that's how the curse was stipulated—God couldn't be near anything that wasn't like Him or He would just destroy whatever that was, and nothing that was so unclean as to be cursed could come near to God, because if it did it would just be burned up and destroyed. So there had to be this wall of separation between God and even those He wanted to be in His own family, plus everything else that was common and unclean.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.
Even as I write this there is a part of me that wants to hang on to what it thinks it needs—the cravings, lusts, profanity of egotistical impulses to feel acceptable and special, better or righter than others (more able to survive because of it); and everything else that makes sense to this profane nature of the animal which is driven by all those instinctual things. It delights in having its constant needs satisfied and that's all it knows. When it considers the holiness of separation from those things it is reviled and disgusted because it doesn't understand holiness and separation; it only understands being led by the instinct to indulge in whatever is welling up within it. It does whatever it can to dispel as erroneous any desire to follow the good that I've learned and the call to be separated from those instincts and cravings for its own self-satisfaction. The idea of becoming conformed to another way than what it has learned to listen to and follow is disgusting to that which wants to remain controlled by the animal, to continue to be an animal because that's what it's used to being able to trust and love. There is a better way for the sons, that which brings a joy that the animal can't even conceive of because it is base, and always consumed with needing to fulfill its own needs and what it thinks is expected of it.
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
The purity of Mary is simple. She found what gave her a kind of unspeakable joy from the Father. All she wanted to do was listen to the voice of the Son and stay near him, like being in the Father's house, close to Him. A life that is filled with the calmness and peace of everything that isn't what stimulates it is the way to achieve what the Father intends in the body of those who are being called to become transformed away from being mere animals, controlled by the randomness of the chaos of the animal. There is a comprehension that grows within the son, about what keeps him in a safe place. It's like being in the Father's house, sitting at His feet, feeling the joy of just being near Him. The animal still in us doesn't like this, nor do the humans because they are 100% driven by that nature. Therefore an effective way to become clean from what keeps the animal so strong in us is to not allow ourselves to be influenced by them, by not being around them. That is the most pointed and easy answer to this dilemma. The Father will provide ways for this to happen, but the son must respond by a choice to want the better thing, instead of what's still strong inside of him because of the reinforcement he allows, because of the influence of the profane that he permits by exposing himself to what contaminates instead of coming away from it, separating himself from it, being able to pull himself away from the love he has for it.
Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
Lots of humans have drawn conclusions about what will happen in the world in regards to God, and claim they can figure out what is going to take place because of their own interpretation they ascribe to the words that have been preserved, but not for them. The humans are good at predicting the past in regards to what God has already done, but they cannot know what will happen next, how God will act, what His purpose will look like, or when.
I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.
All we can know so far is that there hasn't been a record of a true people of God since those who lived in first century faded out into obscurity. If there has been, then they've been totally hidden from the recognition of the world ruled by the human animals. We can recognize that the testimony of the writers of the NT are true, according to how it aligns with the truth that is being put in our heart, even only since a distinctly appointed time had commenced in us, when we can recognize that the secret truth and hidden power of God was revealed and came to us. That was when we were separated from the other humans who claim to know the way to the Father, because of that supernatural process that was just all of a sudden there in us revealing the life of the Father and our true identity, at the certain appointed time when it came. That time was obviously decided beforehand, and not by us, but by whoever has been initiating and continuing it. We didn't actually do anything on our own that was different—it just happened, and once it started happening it didn't stop, nor has it remained stagnant or waned. Once the planted seed started germinating it has been growing and becoming more healthy, although that is only apparent to us, because the entire process is secret, just as the Father has always acted in secret and has remained hidden from those who aren't called to be with Him.
There have been many erroneous conclusions we've made about it, what happened along the way because we tried to take control of it and make it ours, for our purpose (ego), as the animal nature is always driven to do with everything it has the power to do that to. That's the key to it—we didn't have the power to own it and control it, because it is just as Jesus said it was, like the wind that we cannot catch, harness or control for our own good, to profit from it because we've figured out how to own it. The animals are driven to find that agreement in themselves that there's something valuable in being the one who's right, the one who possesses the truth, who owns what is true, and having that validated in their natural bodies. We've been guilty quite often of that evil, of being led by the serpent to fulfill our own will, even while we were ignorant of its workings to do that.
We're constantly trying to figure this process of transformation out, to make it explainable, to control what's happening for our own egotistical purposes, because we're afraid of not knowing (hence the desire to know good and evil), afraid of trusting Him who cannot be controlled (hence the desire to trust that which was standing in front of her, speaking lies to her). It is unavoidable in the beginnings because that's just what human animals are trained and driven to do because of the curse. At a certain point we slowly evolve to come to the understanding of how the animal nature in us works, and how powerful it is to make us into creatures who cannot be pleasing to God. That knowledge is not an end in itself, but the beginning of the realization of the need to be separated from its control by denying it the power to lead us like the animal it desires to define us as.
The transformation from unclean animal to son of God will come by the state of our heart being right, honest and pure—not before other humans (they will not validate the sons as per who they actually are) but before the Father, in the secret places where only He can see what, who we actually are in our most secret places. We can then begin to let go of that need and craving to be able to control what's happening by having it figured out, by knowing who we are and where we fit in and what to expect, which all comes from the evil still in us, what hasn't been rooted out of us yet; what still rules, leads and guides us, what still effectively defines us as an unclean animal which cannot come near to God.
And you shall root out the evil from your midst.
If we wonder why we're still like we are (why we haven't been automatically or instantaneously transformed, already made perfect and complete), it's because it's a long slow process. It's like a six year old kid wondering why he can't drive a car, go to work or do all the other stuff the adult animals do. The six year old's equivalent in the analogy is a newborn son of God who's unable to see the spiritual reality just because he's too young. Therefore he has to be suckled by God with the things of the world and the ways of the humans that he still very much loves and can't part with while he continues to learn the new way of how to choose the right and reject the wrong. So then what's the equivalent of the adult human animal in the same analogy? That would be one who is able to believe that the impossible according to the natural perception of things is actually possible, because he has learned to trust his hidden Father. He has suffered the discipline of the teacher so that he knows the right from the wrong, then how to be able to choose that which leads to a knowledge of the Father, and deny that which inhibits it.
Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed.
Continuing to be able to believe in the good thing, what seems impossible because of so many lies, arrogance and presumption, is the work of the son who has been given. The gifts that are given to the son, what the Lord speaks so much about in the teachings and parables in the preserved words, are all geared toward one thing—allowing him to see what can't be seen, and to believe in the impossible, not just haphazardly but as per the teacher's instruction, which leads to his coming close to the Father so he can begin to know Him. It's not stabbing in the dark and making stuff up according to what we want to be there (what would serve us as per the animal cravings, what the arrogant humans do about the God they cannot know), but specific things that come from the invisible teacher, toward a specific end—toward knowing the Father who is impossible for the humans to know because He purposefully makes Himself hidden and secret, and He purposefully makes and keeps them unclean via the curse they were born under, so they can't turn and become healed from their uncleanness, then come near Him and find Him, then know Him. He only wants to be found and known by those whom He wants near Him, His particularly chosen sons.
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
As much of that good gift as he has been given, so that he is actually able to believe what his animal consciousness and the other human animals deem impossible, that much belief is required from him, because that's what his Father loves—not regression back toward the things that the animals run after, but belief in what seems impossible. That belief is the only power strong enough to deny the all powerful nature of the animal that lives in the humans to keep them where the Father wants them. It is accounted for in the work that is done by him to continue in the work that's already been started in him, to do what he knows is the will of the Father by continuing to deny the animal the right to rule him and lead him away from the Father. To continue to believe in what is being shown to him, according to the reality which is not verified by the humans around him—especially not a building filled with humans who are all regurgitating the same ineffectual things they've all learned they're supposed to say if they want to be pleasing to God ( though, it's just to fit in with all the rest and find the agreement they carve in their animal selves).
It isn't belief in things produced out of speculation or presumption because of what the animal in him wants—to feed his own ego in the craving to be the one who owns and controls the truth, the one who's validated and in effect worshipped by the animals around him. It's just continuing in the secret way that's already been started in him, and moving toward the good and away from the bad, in secret.
Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."
The son belongs to the true Israel of God, and should understand that this and so many other things will happen as the animal tries to battle with the teacher for control of his own particular body, as per God's purpose for it if he has been chosen for so much. The egotistical cravings are subtle, and a part of his nature and thinking as an animal who learned to be the way he now is. It is a very common tendency to want to exercise and satisfy those cravings, and it will happen to him as a reaction to what's going on inside his mind and heart. It is made clear and lucid by the teacher, although not in any natural way, for the purpose of identifying the evil in him, toward the end which is the purification of the temple, which is his body, and the place where God wants to live, which is his heart. The unclean things are always trying to prop themselves up in there so that the son is led by the animal instead of the Father, who wants not only to live in his heart, but also to lead and guide him instead of everything else—of the world, of the human animals, what they love and run after and call their own.
From within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.'
It takes a long time, and a lot of grief and suffering to make a son's heart clean and pure in the secret places where no humans can see. It's beyond difficult to deny what we love,a nd what is so close to us and easy to satisfy. What the son was before God came will still want to live there, like the most stubborn animal; and it doesn't leave easily, or immediately, or for good. It always wants to have its way inside the sons' heart, because it's been that way even from the very beginning. In the same tradition as he's always worked, the serpent's craving and desire is to turn the sons away from God, to get them to follow it. That's just the way it is.
Did God say, "You must not eat from any tree in the garden"?
"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " `He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.' "
