2 Samuel 6 / Jeremiah 11 / Matthew 22

[Previous] [Calendar] [Next]

I will celebrate before the LORD.
I will become even more undignified than this, and
I will be humiliated in my own eyes.

But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.
And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

Natural respect and honor from the humans is a prized commodity for them to acquire and retain. Not so for the sons of God who know that He can not be found amongst them. He's not like a man, nor should we be worried about pleasing men, because their plans go contrary to God's. They have their own set of rules and things that they value, and God has another, totally hidden to them and only revealed to those He chooses to reveal it. The humans despise the sons of God for honoring their true Father out of a jealousy they aren't even conscious of, because they can't see Him as the sons are able to see their Father. He is not the Father of all the humans so He doesn't reveal Himself as such to them all, only the few He is choosing got become His own sons.

Then the LORD said to me, "There is a conspiracy among the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem. They have returned to the sins of their forefathers, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them."

This is the original sin, which caused the animal nature to be put on the humans in the beginning. The would be son conspired with his helper, who was conspiring with the snake, to gang up together and go against God's will and desire for them. The antidote to that was what Jesus the Lamb of God brought to Him and the sons—to reverse the effects of that curse so that what happens now in God's family isn't a conspiracy of evil against Him, but of love for Him and what He wants—love amongst His sons for each other. The family remains loyal to itself and especially for and because of the Father, to have peace and a condition to that which is in the humans always engaged in trickery, manipulation and selfishness. It's a reversal of what happened before, the ironic twist of the unexpected. Now God's sons conspire together to take care of each other and to promote the Father's interests instead of their own, because of the great love of His Lamb who gave himself for the family and gives God what He wants most—all of His sons safe with Him, forever, looking after each other's and the Father's interest, keeping Him safe.

I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, "Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more."

Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them.

This is what the LORD says,

he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the LORD Almighty is his name:

"Only if these decrees vanish from my sight," declares the LORD,
"will the descendants of Israel ever cease to be a nation before me."

Who are the "descendants of Israel," spoken of in the last verse? There is no enduring natural thing. The natural is temporary, and although God did deal with man at one time through the natural, that way is obsolete now. The way that God deals with man now is through the unseen, unobserved and uncontrollable life of the Father living in His son, not by natural things. He may use the natural for the benefit of the recipients of His love, but as we know everything in the natural is merely a copy of and only points to the spiritual reality.

Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was talking about them. They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:  "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come."

They paid no attention and went off--one to his field, another to his business.

Then he said to his servants, "The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find."

So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

The sons of God, which the ancient nation of Israel points at, are those who live by faith in God despite the natural, as our brother Abraham did. We can understand that it is only a copy of the things to come. Jesus was the Messiah who established this new covenant between God and His sons. Before it was the covenant of the natural, with the natural law, and man worshipped God in the natural. God had only chosen one natural group to be His people. Jesus changed that. Now it is about the hidden way, God's way, as God is spirit—and the natural is obsolete because the better thing is in place. The natural reality—Israel being chosen to be God's people—was only ever a copy, and only pointed to the better thing. It doesn't mean anything in and of itself, or hold any enduring value, because the temporary reality always changes and goes away, just like the Jews being God's people.

A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the spirit.

When it does mean anything is when one is able to break through the natural order and recognize God in another, and honor Him by defying the natural reality by risking what one has in order to choose God instead of that, despite the consequences. There will be consequences when one is faced with the choice of believing God, because that choice is always paired up against something real and substantial, or it wouldn't be a choice. God isn't theoretical, nor is He limited by what seems possible in our earthly, temporary minds. There is a sacrifice to make when choosing the Father, but we soon learn that what we thought we were losing wasn't anything at all, because what we are choosing against are things like respect from the humans, or money, or anything else they love and run after with gusto, only to find in the end that they're actually worth nothing. When you get old and your body stops working and you are just about ready to go into the ground, the things you used to love and run after when you thought they would be there to protect you forever, literally have no meaning or purpose any longer.

Because the humans spend their lives observing that He doesn't regularly break in to the natural and show Himself, they assume that He's just that way across the board—He's "up there," and they're "down here," and that's just the way it's going to be until the "next life" happens. What they don't assume is that that's the way He is because that's the way He wants to be, hidden from the humans and only revealed to the sons when it's time for that son to be called. Then He breaks in to that one's reality and shows Himself and gives that one a choice, and it won't be theoretical—there will be definite consequences in choosing Him over not choosing Him. It follows the model of what the Son did for the men who were chosen for him, to whom the Father wanted to be revealed.

I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

The enemies of God and His children are those who are natural and who stay natural, who keep conspiring with the snake and reinforcing the natural and its way, who are an obstacle to the son who is on the path that leads to the Father. Stephen declared who the enemies of God were—those natural Jews who assumed they were the children of Abraham because of their natural relationship to him, who wanted to be leaders of God's people for their own sake, and couldn't have cared less about the will and desire of God. Basically they were mere animals, being led purely by their animal instincts, urges, cravings and impulses to keep hold of things for their own will and desires to remain intact. They didn't love God like David loved God—they didn't care about Him. They only cared about themselves, which is something all animals are cursed with.

You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy spirit!

Do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

The humans most often think of God as some huge machine that has no needs. That because He is so big and powerful He just has everything and doesn't need anything at all from anyone. That He is just there to dispense things to the humans, all whom He just loves so much even though they could care one solitary rat's ass about Him or anything He might actually want or need. So they make up things they say He likes and wants from them like their hollow, meaningless external rituals, with no heart or honesty needed, because He's just a self-contained machine anyway so all they gotta do is be "good" (learn then adhere to the right facts).

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the holy spirit and with fire.

There are only two baptisms of the Lord—either one will be baptized with the spirit and with fire, or he will be baptized only with fire. Fire burns up the dross and impurities (the animal nature) from the valuable material (a human life that is chosen by the Father to become a son of God), but fire baptism will burn up the whole man out of the race of the humans if he is merely an animal led by the animal nature. Those who are baptized by the spirit, the life of the only living God inside them, will have a seal on them, the mark, the name of God written on their foreheads—the deposit and guarantee that they will not be utterly burned up by the Lord's fire baptism when he burns the animal nature out of them.

Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, `Here it is,' or `There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

Being baptized with the spirit means that you have the spirit, which is the life of the Father and the Son living within you (inside your human body). It is planted there as a seed and then grows like a plant, as so many of the Son's parables indicate about the nature of that life, if it is given. The good gift that God gives is His own life in the son's body, and it grows and builds slowly, the same time that the Lord is burning the animal nature out of the son. There is a balance in that giving of the gift of life that is dependent on the loss of the other life and presence of the animal that only the Father knows how to control. We don't control it or decide we're ready for anything because we're dull and lifeless, having no comprehension of the way the Father works.

It is not true that because one has memorized a set of doctrines and been baptized by a man, then he is also automatically baptized in the spirit. That's just rubbish made up by humans wanting to, thinking they could control how God will work for them, how He might be able to serve them which is their constant goal—to get as much service as they can for themselves. The ultimate service is having your gods serve you like you like to be served, which is easy when you make them up. The Lord is the One who chooses who will be baptized in the spirit, not natural men. He may have used other men who have been baptized in the spirit to perform a baptism in his actual name (when that name was known in the earth to the humans), but only because they had the authority to do so. Self-ordained, self-preserving humans do not have that authority. That authority is given by the Lord to whom he chooses, in the same way it was given to him by his Father.

We don't need to over-address the modern "holy spirit" circuses which go on today. They haven't even any conception of who Jesus is, was, nor what he accomplished for those who are chosen to have God revealed to them. Not to mention they have no idea about foundational concepts—devil, hell, etc. That is why we had to come from a community of humans who have the most basic understanding of fundamental truth (that the real Jesus was not a god) necessary to understand the rest of the truth that comes from the most fundamental truths. Otherwise the foundation would be christian myths made up by men, which started to devour the church shortly after Paul's natural death.

...the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Our natural mind is what God starts with when He gives birth to a spiritual child. But soon after the child is born the natural man starts to become overtaken by the spirit, as the Lord changes the man from old man to new man, flesh to spirit, animal to son. Of course as long as we are still in these bodies of flesh there will be a remnant of the old man, however dim or bright we allow it to keep burning. When the natural body is gone and we are redeemed from the ground, then we can be spirit and behold God as He truly is, because we can be one with Him—purely spirit, no more natural.

The spirit cannot be recognized by the natural, which is why on the outside we will appear just the same as we always did to the humans who cannot observe the transformation, or the presence of the life of the Father which makes it happen. Contrary to popular belief, the spirit is not some sort of magic show for the benefit of man's entertainment. In the first century the gifts of the spirit were given to accelerate the cause of the new covenant, and were seen almost exclusively by believers. Its purpose was to encourage those same people and to assure them that Jesus was alive, not dead; so that they would continue on the path, the Way to their Father, and not abandon the Lord's cause, or their brothers.

The family is the only important thing. God's family of sons is who we become shepherds of each one for the other, ultimately for and responsible to the Father, for His sake. John spoke about those anti-christs (against the purpose of the Son) who abandoned their brothers, the one who went out from them to seek their own way and purpose, like any ordinary animal naturally would.

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

Believers live lives that look very much like everyone else—quiet, plain and ordinary. What is different is that inside they know they hear the living word of God speaking to them, and they also see it in the other one who is of the same condition, of the same calling, favored by the Father—which means everything. To the humans around them that will be only something to despise about them. The spirit recognizes itself in the other, and everything else is just a conspiracy, like gathering a bunch of humans around you who all believe the same lie so you can think it's actually truth via the crowd's consensus. There are no good people who don't have the life of God in them, because only God is good, and only the life of God living in the son is the good thing which can assure his redemption from the ground, so that he does not remain forever one with it and the rest of the creation.

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

How did Jesus walk? Not as an animal, led by the animal nature with all its instincts, cravings, urges and impulses. The nature and instinct of God is love, the opposite of the animal which can only ever love itself. The one who is led by the animal nature can never actually love. Actual love only comes from and goes to God, and back and forth amongst the true members of His family, those who are His actual sons.

There are lots of imposters who assume they can just reach out their hand and grab the fruit from the tree of life because they want it, and because they think God mimics society so He must be all fair and democratic and love everyone the same—that He's some robot without a personality or any kind of preference about who He likes over others so He just wants every last one of them crammed in there with all the rest. If God actually was how the christians say He is, then we are most cursed, because it means that we weren't chosen and that He is just lukewarm and wishy-washy—that He doesn't know what He wants but is just taking whoever comes to Him, as though He were at the mercy of the humans and is just hoping and waiting for them to decide they want Him after all and when they do then He's all happy, like some contemptible human.

The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

The Father loves the Son and shows him all he does.

The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life.

The Son made it clear that the life of God living in His sons isn't for everyone, and that just because someone wants it that doesn't mean they're going to get it because of some sort of prideful, assumptive, privilege-based lie that God's love is for everyone because He loves everyone the same, like a machine. By that measure and that very definition, His love must be cheap and easy to get. That's why they don't have it, and why it has been given to those who look very unlikely, us the irresponsible sinners—because that's the last place they'd ever look, which is the real declaration of their self-adoring character.

God loves irony, and there's so much of it in His reality of the way things actually are versus the way the humans think it has to be, or think by their control over it they can make it into. Because He remains hidden to the humans it doesn't look like He's in control, sot hey can just make their own gods into whatever shape they want them to be to serve them best. For them it is all random and chaotic because the real God isn't revealed to them. For those He has chosen to reveal Himself to He is very much in control. Everything is calculated and perfect, for the purpose of making us into sons whom the Father can actually enjoy and love as dearly loved children. All for His sake and benefit. Becoming grateful servants is knowing the whole truth about how he regards His own sons versus the rest of humanity.

There is a sense of fairness and equality to God, but that is limited to His family of sons who have shown and proven their love to Him by choosing Him over their own way and their animal right to live out their lives how they want to, with them in control. He loves each son and knows each one personally, which is the reason they are chosen by Him (He knows who He wants). His love in them is what they recognize about each other, what they have equally in common. That is a thing of great encouragement, which they can all point to and all revel in, and conspire to teach the others about their Father's true and great love for them once it has been established. Without that particular recognition we'd be like blind ants without a cause or purpose, and nothing to work together for in this existence.

When the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. "Friend," he asked, "how did you get in here without wedding clothes?" The man was speechless.

Then the king told the attendants, "Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

For many are invited, but few are chosen.
